Rosemont boots churchBy William Alnor

BRYN MAWR - A church run by the controversial Rev. Frederick Drummond was kicked out of Rosemont College yesterday.
According to Carol Grace, facilities coordinator for the Catholic college for women, representatives from the Church of Our Saviour in Concordville had been renting the college's facilities to hold Sunday evening worship services for the past two weeks. The church was hoping to begin Sunday morning services at the college in the near future as one of six spin-off churches under Drummond's control in the Delaware Valley.
Two weeks ago Drummond, who has begun referring to himself as "father apostle," announced he was closing his Concordville church at the end of October. Recently the pastor, whose activities have been the focus of a federal grand jury probe, placed the 27-acre church complex up for sale at an asking price of $3.2 million.
Grace said the college had decided to not allow the sect to use its facilities any longer. In a carefully worded statement, Grace declined to elaborate on the college's reasons.
A source close to the college said the church used deception in renting the college's facilities. Grace refused to con-firm or deny that report.
The decision also came after college officials read yesterday's Daily Times story reporting that Swarthmore College's Community Center was seeking to prohibit the church from using the center. A source at Rosemont said officials acted when they realized they also were renting college property to Drummond's sect without realizing who Drummond was -- as in the Swarthmore situation.
The attempt to place his church in the affluent Main Line suburbs marks the second time Drummond has tried to move into that region. Several years ago Drummond rented the Valley Forge Music Fair to hold Sunday morning worship services. The church was evicted from the facilities after several Sundays.
